Dr. Abdel Elgamouz has been an assistant professor in the University of Sharjah (UOS) since 2015. Before joining UOS, he was an associate research at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom. He served as an active member in the department of chemistry. Dr. Abdelaziz earned his PhD at the same university of Surrey (UK) in designing new macrocyclic ligands that stem their use as models for protein-metal binding sites in a substantial array of metalloprotein in biological systems in 2009. After earning his BSc in chemistry and MSc in chemistry from Moulay Ismail University Morocco he successfully earned a competitive European scholarship to do his PhD studies at the University of Surrey. He started his professional teaching career in chemistry at the University of Sharjah in 2015 where he is serving as assistant professor. He taught many courses in Analytical chemistry at the undergraduate and postgraduate level at the University of Surrey. Dr. Abdelaziz’s research interests encompass, nano science and technology, development of optical and electrochemical biosensors, structural composites, membranes, and pollutants analysis. He is an acting reviewer for several internationally recognized journals.
