Given the national goal of “emission peaking and carbon neutralization”, China has become the largest country in the world for offshore wind farm construction. At the same time, navigational safety problems in offshore wind farm waters have become increasingly frequent. Owing to the complexity of offshore wind farm waters and the small number of accident data samples available for reference, the system theory method is more suitable for selection than the traditional method. Based on causal analysis based on system theory (CAST) and a complex network (CN), in this study, a qualitative and quantitative accident analysis model, CAST-CN, is constructed to analyze a complete case of vessel and wind turbine allision in offshore wind farm waters. The results show that, at the micro level, in addition to the master, crew, shipping company, and typhoon Hato, the maritime safety administration and the wind farm operation management department have a certain impact on the development of the accident discussed in this study. At the macro level, internal and external factors leading to the lack of system safety are identified, and measures and suggestions for system safety improvement are proposed based on analysis. This study can fill the research gap in the systematic analysis of traffic accidents in offshore wind farm waters and provide support for the safety assessment and decision-making of government management departments and research institutes.

Underground mining involves numerous risks, such as collapses, gas leaks, and explosions, posing significant threats to worker safety. In this work, we develop an indoor localization system that uses Bluetooth for coarse positioning and ultrasonic arrays for precision calibration. This system is particularly useful for automated mining operations in underground environments where satellite positioning signals are unavailable. The indoor localization system consists of ultrasonic receiver arrays and an improved multi-transmitter-multi-receiver algorithm, enabling accurate localization within the mining environment. Geometric Dilution of Precision (GDOP) analysis is incorporated to optimize the network layout, and an inertial navigation module is integrated to track the posture of moving objects, enabling precise trajectory determination over large areas, such as coal mines. In the experiment, three traditional methods were compared, and the proposed tracking approach demonstrated a positioning accuracy within 10 cm, reducing error by 20% compared to conventional techniques. This high-precision indoor localization method proves beneficial for underground mining applications.

With the tightening of marine carbon emission reduction policies, the sustainable development of the shipping industry has attracted much attention, and it is of great significance to use Automatic Identification System (AIS) big data to study the carbon emissions of marine ships. Taking ships around Bohai Bay as the research object, this paper constructs a calculation method of ship carbon emissions driven by the ship AIS trajectory. The AIS information of ships is extracted, and the sailing status is determined. The carbon emission calculation model is built based on the AIS data, the carbon emission in 2023 is empirically measured, and the characteristics are analyzed. At the same time, a speed simulation model was built to evaluate the impact of speed reduction on carbon emissions and put forward emission reduction measures. The results show that the carbon emission of ships around Bohai Bay in 2023 was 8.8072 million tons, with cargo ships contributing the most, and the carbon emissions of the cruise state was significant. A 10% reduction in speed would reduce annual carbon emissions by about 6%. This study provides a reference for understanding the impact of speed on carbon emissions and formulating emission reduction measures, which can be used to compare historical and future data to support the emission reduction in ports and shipping enterprises.

Bluetooth devices have been widely used for pedestrian positioning and navigation in complex indoor scenes. Bluetooth beacons are scattered throughout the entire indoor walkable area containing stairwells, and pedestrian positioning can be obtained by the received Bluetooth packets. However, the positioning performance is sharply deteriorated by the multipath effects originating from indoor clutter and walls. In this work, an ultra-wideband (UWB)-assisted Bluetooth acquisition of signal strength value method is proposed for the construction of a Bluetooth fingerprint library, and a multi-frame fusion particle filtering approach is proposed for indoor pedestrian localization for online matching. First, a polynomial regression model is developed to fit the relationship between signal strength and location. Then, particle filtering is utilized to continuously update the hypothetical location and combine the data from multiple frames before and after to attenuate the interference generated by the multipath. Finally, the position corresponding to the maximum likelihood probability of the multi-frame signal is used to obtain a more accurate position estimation with an average error as low as 70 cm.
