Comprehensive governance of the watershed environment is one of the keys to urban and regional development and construction, which will affect not only the overall quality of urban economic development, but also the production and lives of urban residents. Since the economy in the Yangtze River Delta develops rapidly and the water environmental issues is more and more striking, it is in urgent need of moving forward the governance of water environment. This study empirically analyzes the governance efficiency of water environment in the Yangtze River Delta from 2006 to 2017 adopting the methods of the DPSIR (Driving Force-Pressure-State-Impact-Response Analysis model)–TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution) and the SNA (Social Network Analysis) to clarify the roles and responsibilities of different cities and main contributors in the governance of water environment. According to the research, the following results are attained: first, due to the effects of pressure and the state subsystem, the Yangtze River Delta’s governance efficiency of water environment has increased steadily over time, from 0.3704 in 2006 to 0.4645 in 2017, but the disparities across cities have further widened. Second, in terms of contributors, the enterprises and governments play the main roles in the governance of water environment in recent years, while the public cannot always exert significant influence owing to unexpected environmental occurrences. Lastly, from the perspective of regional coordinated governance, the Yangtze River Delta resembles a tightly connected network of collaborative governance of water environment, with network connectivity and density growing year after year. However, the network structure of the governance efficiency of water environment in the study area is asymmetric, and network connectivity is higher inside the administrative regions, whereas spatial connectivity across provincial administrative boundaries has to be improved. The research scale and connotation in the field of the governance of water environment can be expanded and deepened through the study on the evaluation of the governance efficiency of water environment in the Yangtze River Delta, and it has considerable practical implications in modernizing the national governance system and capability.

The effective identification of reclaimed vegetation species is important for the subsequent management of ecological restoration projects in mining areas. Hyperspectral remote sensing has been used for identifying vegetation species. However, few studies have focused on mine-reclaimed vegetation. Even if there are studies in this field, the methods used by the researches are mainly traditional discriminant analyses. The environmental conditions of reclaimed mining areas lead to significant intraclass spectral differences in reclaimed vegetation, and there is uncertainty in the identification of reclaimed vegetation species using traditional classification models. In this study, in situ hyperspectral data were used to analyze the spectral variation in the reclaimed vegetation canopy in mine restoration areas and evaluate their potential in the identification of reclaimed vegetation species. We measured the canopy spectral reflectance of five vegetation species in the study area using the ASD FieldSpec 4. The spectral characteristics of vegetation canopy were analyzed by mathematically transforming the original spectra, including Savitzky–Golay smoothing, first derivative, reciprocal logarithm, and continuum removal. In addition, we calculated indicators for identifying vegetation species using mathematically transformed hyperspectral data. The metrics were submitted to a feature selection procedure (recursive feature elimination) to optimize model performance and reduce its complexity. Different classification algorithms (regularized logistic regression, back propagation neural network, support vector machines with radial basis function kernel, and random forest) were constructed to explore optimal procedures for identifying reclaimed vegetation species based on the best feature metrics. The results showed that the separability between the spectra of reclaimed vegetation can be improved by applying different mathematical transformations to the spectra. The most important spectral metrics extracted by the recursive feature elimination (RFE) algorithm were related to the visible and near-infrared spectral regions, mainly in the vegetation pigments and water absorption bands. Among the four identification models, the random forest had the best recognition ability for reclaimed vegetation species, with an overall accuracy of 0.871. Our results provide a quantitative reference for the future exploration of reclaimed vegetation mapping using hyperspectral data.

The hydrological information derived from a digital elevation model is very important in distributed hydrological modeling. As part of alpine hydrological research on stream network modeling using remote sensing data in the northeast of the Tibetan Plateau, three digital elevation model (DEM) datasets were obtained for the purpose of hydrological features, mainly including channel network, watershed extent and terrain character. The data sources include the airborne light detection and ranging (LiDAR) with point spacing of 1 m, the High Mountain Asia (HMA) DEM and the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) DEM. Mapping of the watershed and stream network was conducted using each of the three DEM datasets. The modeled stream networks using the different DEMs were verified against the actual network mapped in the field. The results show that the stream network derived from the LiDAR DEM was the most accurate representation of the network mapped in the field. The SRTM DEM overestimated the basin hypsometry relative to the LiDAR watershed at the lowest elevation, while the HMA DEM underestimated the basin hypsometry relative to the LiDAR watershed at the highest elevation. This may be because, compared with the SRTM DEM and the HMA DEM, the LiDAR DEM has higher initial point density, accuracy and resolution. It can be seen that the LiDAR data have great potential for the application in hydrologic modeling and water resource management in small alpine catchments.
