The essential oil of Berula erecta (Apiaceae) obtained by hydrodistillation was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. One hundred and twenty-five components identified accounted for 96.2% of the total oil. The oil was characterized by the presence of (Z)-falcarinol (21.5%), β-sesquiphellandrene (17.2%), β-caryophyllene (14.9%) and γ-terpinene (14.8%). Terpenoids (66.2%) constituted the main fraction of the oil, with monoterpene (19.3%) and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (39.2%) as the most abundant compound class.
Gas chromatography and gas chromatography/mass specteometry analyses of root volatiles of Achillea distans Willd. subsp. distans, collected from wild populations in Serbia, enabled the identification of 185 constituents, accounting for 93.6% of the total oil. Main constituents of the oil were τ-cadinol (17.6%), alismol (14.1%), α-cadinol (9.1%) and caryophyllene oxide (5.0%). The root oil was additionally characterised by the presence of five different amides containing the olefinic C10 acid moieties. This is the first report on A. distans subsp. distans root volatiles and on the occurrence of piperidides and piperideides as essential oil constituents.

The composition of the hydrodistilled oil of Doronicum austriacum Jacq. subsp. giganteum (Griseb.) Stoj. et Stef. (Compositae) obtained in 0.08% w/w yield was determined by GC and GC/MS resulting in the identification of 154 components, accounting for 97.9% of the total oil. The major constituents were germacrene D (50.8%), β-caryophyllene (9.1%), α-humulene (5.5%) and (Z,E)-α-farnesene (5.2%). Terpenoids (93.6%) constituted the main fraction of the oil with sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (81.6%) as the most abundant compound class.
