Dr. Daniel Gabriel Pons is a Senior Lecturer at the Multidisciplinary Translational Oncology Group, University Institute for Research in Health Sciences (IUNICS), University of the Balearic Islands. He graduated in Biology from the UIB (2009) and in Biochemistry from the UIB (2010). Then, at the same university, he obtained his Master's degree in Human Nutrition and Food Quality (2010) and his Doctorate in Human Nutrition (2015). His main research interests are energy metabolism, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial functionality in cancer; the influence of estrogens and phytoestrogens on breast cancer; and the search for biomarkers for the early detection of colorectal cancer.
