Here we show an intriguing phenomenon in the bubble electrospinning process that the ruptured film might be stripped upwards by an electronic force to form a very thin and long plate-like strip, which might been received in the metal receiver as discontinuous backbone-like wrinkled materials, rather than smooth nano-fibers or microspheres. The processes are called the bubble electrospinning. The electronic force can be replaced by a blowing air, and the process is called as the blown bubble spinning. We demonstrate that the size and thickness of the ruptured film are the crucial parameters that are necessary to understand the various observations including beads and nanoporous materials. We identify the conditions required for a ruptured film to form discontinuous structure, and a critical width of the ruptured film to form a cylindrical fiber, above which a long and thin plate-like strip might be obtained, and a criterion for oscillatory jet diameter, which leads to bead morphology of the obtained fibers. The space of the adjacent beads depends on the fiber size. We anticipate our assay to be a starting point for more sophisticated study of the bubble electrospinning and the blown bubble spinning and for mass-production of both nanofibers and nanoscale discontinuous materials.

In this paper, we propose a powerful modification of the homotopy perturbation method that will accelerate the rapid convergence of series solution. The modified method is employed to solve the MHD boundary-layer equations. The viscous fluid is electrically conducting in the presence of a uniform applied magnetic field and the induced magnetic field is neglected for small magnetic Reynolds number. Similarity solutions of ordinary differential equation resulting from the momentum equation are obtained. Finally, some numerical comparisons among the new modified homotopy perturbation method, the standard homotopy perturbation, the Exact Solution and the Shooting method have been made, which manifest that the modified method is a very accurate and effective algorithm to solve the two-dimensional MHD viscous flow over a stretching sheet

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to apply exp‐function method to construct generalized solitary and periodic solutions of Fitzhugh‐Nagumo equation, which plays a very important role in mathematical physics and engineering sciences.Design/methodology/approach: The authors apply exp‐function method to construct generalized solitary and periodic solutions of Fitzhugh‐Nagumo equation.Findings: Numerical results clearly indicate the reliability and efficiency of the proposed exp‐function method. The suggested algorithm is quite efficient and is practically well suited for use in these problems.Originality/value: In this paper, the authors applied the exp‐function method to obtain solutions of the Fitzhugh‐Nagumo equation and show that the exp‐function method gives more realistic solutions without disturbing the basic physics of the physical problems.
The aim of this paper is to present an efficient and reliable treatment of the variational iteration method (VIM) for partial differential equations with fractional time derivative. The fractional derivative is described in the Jumarie sense. The obtained results are in good agreement with the existing ones in open literature and it is shown that the technique introduced here is robust, efficient and easy to implement
