Dr. Ulku Miray Yildirim has graduated from Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty (2005). She completed her pediatrics residency in Göztepe Training and Research Hospital (2011), Istanbul and pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship in Dr. Abdurrahman Yurtaslan Ankara Oncology Training and Research Hospital, Ankara (2015). After completing her fellowship, she established a pediatric hematology-oncology division with one of her collegues at Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital, Istanbul where she was appointed to fulfill her state compulsory service obligation. At present she is an academic staff at the Istanbul University, Oncology Institute, Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology in Istanbul. She is a member of the Turkish Pediatric Oncology Group Society, Turkish Society of Hematology, International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). She is a SIOP ambassador and co-chair of SIOP Global Health Network, Palliative Care Working Group. She is studying a PhD in Palliative Care and Supportive Treatment for Patients with Cancer at Istanbul University. She is recipient of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, International Development and Education Award in Palliative Care (IDEA-PC) in 2023.
