Luciana C. Gomes is an Invited Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. She is in charge of laboratory and theoretical classes of Protein Engineering and Seminars and a Research Project in Biological Engineering. She completed her Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Engineering in 2016 in the production of recombinant proteins in biofilms at the University of Porto. She is also a Junior Researcher at the Laboratory for Process Engineering, Environment, Biotechnology and Energy (University of Porto), working mainly in the areas of Food Engineering, Medical Biotechnology, and Bioproducts. She has published 39 peer-reviewed papers, 6 book chapters and participated in numerous international conferences and courses with the financial support of several funding agencies (22 oral communications, 2 conference proceedings, and 25 posters).
