Paola Bonaccorsi graduated with a degree in chemistry in 1985 (110/110 cum laude), earned a qualification for the chemist profession in 1985, and obtained a master degree in 1987 from the University of Sheffield, England (Supervisor J. F. Stoddart) and a PhD in 1996 from the University of Sheffield, England (Supervisor D. N. Jones). She became a full professor of organic chemistry in 2019. Research interests include studies on stereoselective syntheses based on the use of enantiopure organosulfurated derivatives and in particular sulfenic acids, as well as the design and synthesis of fluorescent molecules with potential applications in the biomedical field. The scientific production of Paola Bonaccorsi includes more than 80 publications in international journals, 2 book chapters, and more than 70 communications at congresses.
