Marin Ugrina works as a teacher and scientist at the Faculty of Chemistry and Technology in Split, Croatia, in the Department of Environmental Engineering as an Assistant Professor. Areas of scientific interest are the treatment of wastewater with heavy metals using zeolite and other low-cost sorbents, the chemical modification of zeolite, remediation, and the modelling of sorption processes. He is currently the leader of the bilateral Croatian–Slovenian project “Natural modified sorbents as materials for remediation of mercury contaminated environment” (2020–2023).
