Dr. Snezana Dragovic

Biography

Dr. Snežana Dragović, Principal Research Fellow, is a physical chemist who received a PhD in 2005. She has more than 25 years of work experience in radioecology and environmental chemistry, from modeling the distribution of contaminants in the environment and the source apportionment using multivariate statistics via optimization of methods for their identification and speciation to the research of their biological effects. Her current research focuses on radionuclide migration in soil, their interactions with soil constituents, and their use for modeling erosion and sediment transport processes in eroded and erosion-prone areas. Dr. Dragović is teaching two courses (Experimental Radioecology; Chemometrics in Radioecology and Environmental Protection) at the doctoral studies of the Faculty of Physical Chemistry of the University of Belgrade. She is a member of the Society of Physical Chemists of Serbia, the Serbian Chemical Society, the Radiation Protection Society of Serbia and Montenegro, and the International Union of Radioecologists. She is the president of the National Committee of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics. She received teaching commendations from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Biological Society for outstanding achievements in working with students.
