Chiara Schiraldi is a Full Professor in Biochemistry, Department of Experimental Medicine, Section of Biotechnology, Medical Histology and Molecular Biology, School of Medicine, University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” in Naples, Italy. Coordinator of the Biotechnology Group of the Italian Society of Biochemistry (SIB) (since 2021). Elected to the Board of the Assembly of the Italian Full Professors of Biochemistry (since 2021). Board Member of the Life Science, Biotechnology and Biomedicine Regional District Campania Bioscience (since 2019). Scientific and technical board member of Bioteknet, Regional Competence Center in Industrial Biotechnology (2010-2018). Responsible for “Great Equipment Lab”-CGA, ISO9001 certified (since 2011). Academic background: Master's degree in Chemical Engineering summa cum laude University “Federico II” of Naples, Engineering Faculty (December,1996). PhD in Biotechnology in Food and Health Second University of Naples and European Doctorate in Biotecnology HEduBT—higher education in Biotechnology, 2002. Research interest in biotechnology; biopolymers, specifically glycosaminoglycans, from biosynthesis to the biomaterial and medical device development; and the use of in vitro models to assess the bioactivity of macromolecules for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical purposes. More than 140 papers, more than 4400 citations, and an H index of 37 (as of September 2023).
