Antxon Martínez de Ilarduya graduated with a degree in Polymer Chemistry in 1987 and finished his PhD studies at the Chemistry faculty of San Sebastian (EHU-UPV) in 1994. In 1993, he moved to Barcelona and specialized in the field of NMR spectroscopy of polymers. He has worked on 16 competitive research projects and has been codirector of eight PhD students. He is now working as Research Director in the Industrial and Biotechnological Polymer group of the Technological University of Catalonia (UPC). He has published around 170 articles in different ISI journals, 5 patents and presented about 180 communications to national and international congresses, has filed for five patents, and collaborates as a referee for different specialized polymer journals.
