Salvatore Corrao is a Professor at the Department of Health Promotion Sciences, Maternal and Infant Care, Internal Medicine and Medical Specialties, the University of Palermo, Italy. From 1984 to 1994, he worked as an internal student and internal doctor (since 1986) as the Chair of Medical Pathology and in related inpatient departments. From 1994 to 1999, he worked as a Medical Director of Internal Medicine and is the former Co-responsible Assistant. From 1999 to 2005, he was Head of the Epidemiological-Statistical Clinical Methodology Unit (formerly the Information System and Company Statistician) on the General Management staff at ARNAS Civico, Palermo. From 2011 to 2012, he worked as Head of the Echocardiography Service and the Spirometry and Polysomnography Laboratory of the Medicine Unit, and in 2012, he became a director of the Interdepartmental Research Center for Effectiveness and Appropriateness in Medicine (C.R.E.A.M), the University of Palermo, and a Director of the UOC of Internal Medicine II, ARNAS Civico, Di Cristina e Benfratelli, Palermo. In 2013, he became an Interim Director of the Long-Term Care Unit ARNAS Civico, Di Cristina e Benfratelli, Palermo.
