Jiao Guo is currently president of Guangzhou Pharmaceutical University, director of the Key Research Office for Regulating Liver and Lipid Lowering in Hyperlipidemia of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, director of the Level 3 Laboratory of Lipid Metabolism of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and leader of the Key Discipline of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 1984, she graduated from Jiangxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a bachelor’s degree in traditional Chinese medicine, then stayed at the school as a teaching assistant and resident physician. She later received a Master’s degree in medical diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine from the Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and an MD in integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine from the First Military Medical University. In 2014, she won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and the China Patent Excellence Award as the first completer. In May 2017, she won the National Innovation Certificate. Her main research direction is the prevention and treatment of glycolipid metabolism diseases by integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine.
