Domenico Perrotta studied Computer Science at the University of Milan and computational theory of automatic learning at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, where he obtained a Ph.D. His research interests span the interface between Computer Science and Statistics. In the last 15 years he has moved from computational complexity and machine learning to statistics, in particular robust methods and their application to regression and clustering problems in the domain of anti-fraud and trade data analysis. Before his employment with the EC, he worked for the University of Milano Bicocca and for an IT company.
