Katarina Valaskova is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Operation and Economics of Transport and Communications, University of Žilina. Her research focuses on three key areas of financial management: financial health prediction, profit management, and risk quantification and diversification. She has completed study and research stays in the Czech Republic, Romania, Croatia, Latvia, Finland, and Russia. She is the author or co-author of over 120 scientific papers indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, several of which have been recognized as Hot or Highly Cited Papers. Her strong research profile is reflected in significant citation metrics, international collaborations, and invited lectures at conferences and foreign universities. Her achievements include the UNIZA Scientist Award (2020), the Rector’s Award for Most Cited Record (2021), and the Slovak Literary Fund’s Premium for Scientific and Professional Literature (2023) for her book Financial Models in Business Practice. In 2023 and 2024, she was ranked among Stanford University’s Top 2% Most Cited Scientists. Since 2023, she has been a full member of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society.
