Guzman was born in Castellon (Spain). He obtained his PhD (2009) under the supervision of Professor Pablo Ballester at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) in Tarragona (Spain). He then spent three years at the University of Oxford working with Prof Harry L. Anderson and Prof Andrew G. Briggs followed by another three years at the University of Manchester in Prof David A. Leigh’s group. He began his independent career in March 2016 as a Lecturer in Chemistry at the University of Lincoln.
Our research is in the field of supramolecular chemistry, mainly focused in developing rare earth containing assemblies, for imaging and selective chemical modification of proteins.
