Prof. Dr. Nikolaj Goranin received a master's degree in Engineering Informatics in 2006 and completed his Ph.D. at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VilniusTech) in 2010 on the topic of malware evolution modeling by means of genetic algorithms. Currently, he holds the position of Professor at the Department of Information Systems and is the Head of the above-mentioned department. He teaches information technology security, network security, and information security management courses for master's degree students. He also holds the position of CISO at the bank transaction switching service provider EPS LT, UAB. He has CISA and CISM certifications and is a member of the ISACA Lithuania Chapter. He has published more than 30 articles and books on information security. His main research interests include anomaly detection using AI and optimization of information security processes. He has job experience as a system administrator, teacher, and scientific and business project manager.
