My research initially focused on Chirality and Supramolecular Chemistry while doing my PhD at the University of Barcelona, studying the synthesis and homoassociation of water soluble porphyrins using typical organic chemistry methodologies (NMR, UV-Vis, CD, FT-IR, HPLC and MPLC, RLS, MS, XPS, AFM, STM, etc.). Then, during my postdoctoral stay in Berkeley as Fulbright scholar, and ever since, I focused on heterogeneous catalysis and, in particular, on the characterization of catalysts by means of in situ synchrotron techniques (XPS and XAS). In 2012 I started as a postdoc at the ALBA synchrotron light source and since 2014 I am working as beamline scientist at the CIRCE beamline. My job is related to the NAPP instrument from CIRCE which is devoted to Near Ambient Pressure XPS (NAP-XPS).
