Prof. Dr. Aiguo Patrick Hu received his B.E. and M.E. degrees in electrical engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, China, in 1985 and 1988, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand, in 2001. He was at the National University of Singapore for a semester as an Exchange Postdoc Research Fellow. Currently, he is a Full Professor at the Dept of Electrical, Computer and Software Engineering, University of Auckland. His research interests include wireless/contactless power transfer systems and the application of power electronics in renewable energy systems. Dr. Hu was the recipient of the University of Auckland VC's Funded Research and Commercialization Medal in April 2017.
