Dino Aquilano born in Italy (1940), graduated (1963) with honors in Physics, in Torino-University. Retired, as a Confirmed Associate Professor, in 2007. Scientific activity devoted to crystal growth, mainly to: surfaces; twins and polytypism; kinetics; relationships morphology/structure. He published more than 300 papers (one Book, 13 chapters, 200 publications, 77 posters and reports) on international magazines. Referee: over 500 papers in 36 international Journals, and of "Géomatériaux" INSU-CNRS (1997). Team coordinator (1999-2001) of "Crystals of Ca-carbonates in the presence of biological materials", financed by ASI and three Italian Universities, along with ALENIA.  Recognized as “Top Twenty”-Referee from ACS (2010) and as “Top Ten” from RCS (2016). He tutored “Laurea-Theses” in Italian Universities, and 7 PhD Theses in an Italian Consortium. Member (1983-2018) of many PhD juries in French and Spain Universities. Scientific Director (since 1995) of Projects made as joint ventures between the DSMP-Torino and Soremartec-Ferrero Group. Scientific Coordinator in the COFIN – PRIN projects (1996, 1997, 1999, 2004) and National Scientific Coordinator in the PRIN 2005. Lecturer, organizer in national and international Schools and/or Seminars, Conferences (1977-2013). Teacher in Granada (2008) and Sevilla Universities (2009-2011 and 2018). Member of the Directors Board of the Turin University (1984-1993) and co-founder of the Italo-French University (Torino-Lyon, 1998).
