Kaja Kasemets is a Senior
Researcher at the National Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics, with a
specification in antimicrobial properties of nanomaterials. She received her MSc
in Biotechnology from the Institute of Biotechnology, Estonian University of
Life Sciences in 1994 and earned a Ph.D. in Natural and Exact Sciences from Tallinn
University of Technology in 2002. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University
of Milano-Bicocca from 2015 to 2016. She also serves as a Member of the Estonian
Society for Microbiology, the Estonian Society of Toxicology, the Scandinavian
Society for Cell Toxicology, and the Scientific Board of the National Institute
of Chemical Physics and Biophysics (NICPB).
