Jesus Osada works in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology, at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Health Research Institute of Aragon, University of Zaragoza, Spain. Osada obtained Postdoctoral positions at Tufts University under the supervision of Drs Schaefer and Ordovas (2.5 years), at North Carolina at Chapel Hill under Drs Maeda and Smithies (Nobel Prize for Medicine 2007) supervision (1.5 years), at the University of Leiden with Dr. Hofker (0.5 years) and University of Harvard with Dr. Alvarez (0.3 years). Osada's main scientific achievement is in the protective role of extra virgin olive oil against atherosclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis using genetically modified mice.
