This paper aims to consider two tendencies in economy simultaneously: internal integration within the country and localization of economic activities. Firstly, we examine the quantitative measurement of internal economic integration in Romania. Different methods of economic integration measuring have been developed over time, so we have defined and discussed three approaches. To estimate a level of internal integration the link between the region's share in the total output and production factors was estimated and the pattern of distribution of these shares among the regions of Romania was assessed. The calculations have underlined an increasing tendency to deepen the internal economic integration of the Romanian economy. Secondly, the analysis of spatial distribution of economic activity has demonstrated that the capital region Bucharest-Ilfov concentrates the biggest share of employment and production. This indicates that initially there were higher economic activities and a labor deficit has been created, which was later covered by moving employees from other regions. As a result, the capital region concentrates 14.35% of the civil economically active population and 26.78% of the regional gross domestic product in 2014. By computing the location coefficient, we have observed that the counties with the biggest shares in the total GDP are characterized by a higher level of specialization simultaneously in many sectors.

This chapter is focused on conducting in-depth analyses with respect to the economic dynamics of Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries from a macroeconomic but also a socio-economic perspective, using unique data sets, in the ex post phases of crisis. The carried-out investigations have the role to point out the existing development discrepancies inside the group, an aspect that is transforming the EaP countries, perceived as a whole, into a more fragile group. By capturing the specific vulnerabilities of each country member and the existing internal fragilities of the block, the results of our analysis provide an appropriate frame of reference for the assessment of the countries’ individual and concerted capacity to implement common therapeutic measures as to expand regional resilience.

Volunteering is a way to express civic behavior, including pro-environmental behavior such as buying products with recycled content. The purpose of this research is to understand the differences between individuals involved in volunteering activities and individuals who have never been involved in volunteering activities. In order to do this, dimensions are analyzed by categories of public: the general public, individuals involved in volunteering activities (volunteers), and individuals who have never been involved in volunteering activities (non-volunteers). Qualitative methods, based on in-depth interviews; and quantitative methods, based on Anova, Independent Samples T tests, factor analyses, and regression analyses have been combined. The sample included 469 respondents. The general dimensions of buying decisions are: product features, social values, promotions, low risk, uniqueness, and affordable price. The volunteers’ dimensions of buying decisions are product features, social values, uniqueness, benefits, and promotions. The non-volunteers’ dimensions of buying decisions are product features, uniqueness, credibility support, promotions, and low risk. In the conclusions section, implications are presented using specific communication for each of the three public categories, based on important resulting dimensions for each public.
