Prof. Francesco Buccisano is an associate professor of hematology at the Department of Biomedicine and Prevention, University of Rome Tor Vergata. He leads the Molecular Treatment of Acute Leukemia Program, as well as the flow cytometry section of the Hematology Laboratory. His research focuses on diseases such as acute myeloid leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and immune thrombocytopenia, as well as the development of innovative techniques for monitoring and analysis of minimal residual disease in acute myeloid leukemia and in other hematological malignancies. Dr. Buccisano is president of the European Society for Cytometric Cell Analysis (ESCCA), a member of the European LeukemiaNet Working Party for Minimal Residual Disease in leukemia, and secretary of the Acute Leukemia Working Party of the Gruppo Italiano Malattie Ematologiche Maligne dell’Adulto (GIMEMA).
