Recently, with the development of personal wearable electronic devices, the demand for portable power is miniaturization and flexibility. Electro-conductive hydrogels (ECHs) are considered to have great application prospects in portable energy-storage devices. However, the synergistic properties of self-healability, viscoelasticity, and ideal electrochemistry are key problems. Herein, a novel ECH was synthesized by combining polyvinyl alcohol-borax (PVA) hydrogel matrix and 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO)-cellulose nanofibers (TOCNFs), carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and polyaniline (PANI). Among them, CNTs provided excellent electrical conductivity; TOCNFs acted as a dispersant to help CNTs form a stable suspension; PANI enhanced electrochemical performance by forming a “core-shell” structural composite. The freeze-standing composite hydrogel with a hierarchical 3D-network structure possessed the compression stress (~152 kPa) and storage modulus (~18.2 kPa). The composite hydrogel also possessed low density (~1.2 g cm−3), high water-content (~95%), excellent flexibility, self-healing capability, electrical conductivity (15.3 S m−1), and specific capacitance of 226.8 F g−1 at 0.4 A g−1. The fabricated solid-state all-in-one supercapacitor device remained capacitance retention (~90%) after 10 cutting/healing cycles and capacitance retention (~85%) after 1000 bending cycles. The novel ECH had potential applications in advanced personalized wearable electronic devices.

Flexible supercapacitors have attracted significant attention as promising power sources for portable and wearable electronic devices. However, achieving simultaneous high power density, energy density and long-term cyclic stability in a simple device configuration remains a critical challenge. Herein, we report an all-solid-state flexible planar supercapacitor based on hierarchically structured cellulose nanofiber-carbon nanotube@manganese dioxide (CNF-CNT@MnO2) composite aerogels. The electrode architecture is rationally designed by first dispersing CNTs within a hydrophilic CNF scaffold to form a conductive three-dimensional network, followed by in situ oxidative polymerization of MnO2 onto the CNF-CNT fibrous skeleton. The hydrophilic CNFs network ensures thorough electrolyte penetration, the interconnected CNTs facilitate rapid electron transport, and the uniformly coated MnO2 layer provides substantial pseudocapacitance. The aerogel electrode with a low density of 14.6 mg cm−3 and a high specific surface area of 214.4 m2 g−1 delivers a specific capacitance of 273.0 F g−1 at 0.4 A g−1. The assembled planar supercapacitor, incorporating gel electrolyte and a flexible hydrogel substrate, achieves an impressive areal capacitance of 885.0 mF cm−2 at 2 mA cm−2, energy density of 122.9 μWh cm−2 and corresponding power density of 1000.0 μW cm−2. The device exhibits excellent electrochemical stability, retaining 83.3% capacitance after 2500 charge–discharge cycles, and outstanding mechanical flexibility, with 96.3% capacitance retention after 200 repeated bending cycles. Furthermore, multiple devices can be connected in series or parallel to proportionally increase output voltage or current, meeting the practical power requirements of electronic applications. This work offers a viable pathway toward high-performance, durable energy storage solutions for next-generation wearable electronics.

Controlling the deformation rate is the key to improving the product quality of engineered wood flooring. In this work, the changes in the deformation rate of engineered wood flooring were in focus with cold-pressing, response surface methodology, and adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system were used to explore the relationship between deformation rate and processing parameters, including adhesive spreading rate, pressing time, and pressing pressure. According to the results, the deformation rate was positively related to pressing time, while it increased first and then decreased with both the increase of adhesive spreading rate and pressing pressure. Meanwhile, a mathematical model was developed, and the significant influence of each term on the deformation rate was analyzed. This model had high feasibility and can be used to describe the relationship between the deformation rate and processing parameters. Furthermore, an adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system model was established. It has higher accuracy than that of the response surface methodology model, and it can be used for predicting deformation rate and optimizing processing parameters. Finally, an optimal processing conditions with the lowest deformation rate was determined as follows: 147 g/m2 adhesive spreading rate, 12s pressing time, and 1.2 MPa pressing pressure, and it hope to be adopted in the industrial processing of engineered wood flooring with respective of the higher product quality and lower production costs.

Bamboo, a renewable resource, has broad applications in construction, furniture, and other sectors. However, its dimensional stability and mechanical properties under varying humidity conditions pose challenges. This study aims to investigate the effects of microwave–compression treatment on the mechanical properties, water resistance, and chemical composition of bamboo at various moisture contents, and to elucidate the mechanisms underlying these changes. In the experiment, bamboo samples with moisture contents of 10%, 30%, and 50% were subjected to microwave–compression, and their mechanical properties, water resistance, chemical composition, and microstructure were subsequently analyzed. The results indicate that bamboo with low moisture content (10%) exhibited the best modulus of elasticity (MOE) and modulus of rupture (MOR), while bamboo with higher moisture contents (30% and 50%) showed significant declines in mechanical properties, although dimensional stability improved. Chemical analysis revealed that microwave–compression treatment resulted in the reorganization of lignin and hemicellulose, enhancing the chemical stability of bamboo, while X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis indicated an increase in crystallinity at higher moisture contents. Overall, the study demonstrates that microwave–compression treatment can optimize the mechanical properties and dimensional stability of bamboo, particularly with moderate moisture contents. The results show that microwave–compression treatment can improve the structural performance of bamboo, especially under low-humidity conditions.
