Information

Fouad LAOUTID obtained a Master's degree in 1999, a Ph.D. in 2003, and his French “Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches” in polymer chemistry in 2016 from the University of Montpellier. He has worked as a lecturer at the Alès School of Mines for 2 years and joined Materia Nova in 2006. He is currently the Scientific Leader of the Polymeric and Composite Materials unit of Materia Nova. His research interests concern the development of sustainable polymeric materials, such as non-halogenated flame-retardants, biobased materials, (nano)composites, polymer recycling, and additive manufacturing by both conventional and reactive melt processing. He is the author of more than 60 publications, is the inventor of seven patents, and has been the Vice-President of the thematic group “Degradation and fire behavior of organic materials” of the "Société Chimique de France" since 2015.
