I am a research scholarship holder at the University of Florence. My current research focuses on mucous membrane pemphigoid, with a particular emphasis on mucosal immunopathology. Alongside this, I am developing a distinct line of inquiry into ocular immunopathology, specifically exploring the emerging connections between systemic inflammation and retinal health. I am currently preparing a review on the gut microbiota–retina axis, reflecting my interdisciplinary interest in immunology, microbiome science, and ophthalmology. Previously, I gained experience in an immunological research laboratory, where I worked on the characterization of lymphocyte populations in the context of colorectal cancer. I also trained in a clinical setting, contributing to the diagnosis of immunological diseases in a hospital environment.
