Theaim of this research work is to demonstrate the efficiency of combining ASM and Cauchy methods through the optimal design of a fourth order microwave bandpass coaxial filter. The filter should give when tuned optimally the specified response respecting the specified parameters namely: center frequency, bandwidth and return loss. The tuning is the translation of these specifications into the actual physical dimensions of the filter, which is not a straightforward task. In contrast given a set of the physical dimensions the response and the parameters of the filter are easily calculated using simulation and extraction. The idea then is to start with some estimated dimension values, get the filter response of the filter by simulation, and apply Cauchy extraction technique to determine the actual non optimal parameters of the filter. The differences between these parameter values and the specified ones are used as error function by ASM method to correct for the physical dimensions. After simulation and extraction, parameters values that are closer to the specified ones are obtained. This two way procedure is repeated a certain number of iterations until a satisfactory match is achieved.

The paper proposes a new third-order Chebyshev bandpass filter based on the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) manufacturing technology using an inductive iris and a defected ground structure (DGS) station to resonate in the Ka frequency band, intended for wireless communication applications. All steps that are necessary for designing such a filter have been described in detail based on specific analytical equations harnessed to calculate the different synthesizable parameters of the proposed band-pass filter design, such as the coupling matrix, quality coefficients and initial geometric dimensions. The filter’s ideal frequency response is extracted from an equivalent circuit employing localized elements developed with the use of Design Microwave Office Software. Otherwise, HFSS is employed to set the initial parameters of the proposed topology that will not meet the target specifications defined previously. Accordingly, optimization procedures are necessary for different SIW band-pass filter parameters to reach a high frequency response for the proposed design. The detailed results presented show high efficiency of the SIW technology that offers good performance with lower filter volumes. Two topologies have been developed and then optimized to demonstrate the usefulness of EM software

This Article presented the study of a single pacth antenna and array patch antenna. We will focus on the design based on a small size at a resonant frequency of 30GHz. using the software CST Microwave Studio (FEM method) and ADS software (Moments method) to find internal parameters (S... parameters, bandwidth ,VSWR) and external characteristics (gain, directivity and radiation pattern, efficiencies) . To increase the total gain of the antenna and to have a wider bandwidth band width and taking advantage of the functionality of the radiation overlap of several elements radiating in the same direction, we suggest the second and most important step to design a most important step to design an antenna array grouping patches identical to our first patch antenna proposed in first patch antenna proposed in the first step

This paper presents a new design for a third-order bandpass hexagonal substrate integrated waveguide-defected ground structure (SIW-DGS) filter for mobile communications applications. The proposed design operates at 7.90 GHz. It combines the flexibility of rectangular cavities and the efficiency of circular cavities to enhance the filter's electromagnetic (EM) performance and selectivity. To facilitate the filter analysis and improve its computational efficiency, the developed structure is decomposed into individual components and simulated separately using high frequency structure simulator (HFSS) and applied wave research (AWR) software that help extracting critical parameters based on a general coupling matrix (CM) using RT/Rogers 4003 substrate with a dielectric constant of ɛ r = 3.55, tan δ = 0.0027 and a thickness of 0.508 mm. The simulated EM filter response shows an insertion loss of up to 1.58 dB and a return loss of less than −23.5 dB over the operating frequency range from 7.77 GHz to 8.05 GHz, demonstrating a high EM performance. Accordingly, an efficient third-order bandpass hexagonal SIW-DGS filter prototype of a 17 × 22.9 × 0.542 mm 3 volume is realized and demonstrates an accurate EM response with a defined zero transmission, as expected. Measured results of the optimized third-order bandpass hexagonal SIW-DGS filter with a trisection cross-coupled structure and a fractional bandwidth ( FBW ) of 3.54 % show high agreement with the calculated and simulated results, which validates the efficiency of the developed design as a highly accurate candidate for modern communication systems requiring compact structures.

This paper outlines the design and development of a cross-coupled bandpass filter with operational frequency at 1.2 GHz, intended for mobile communication applications. To enhance computational efficiency, the filter is decomposed into individual components and each part is simulated separately using HFSS simulator and AWR software, which facilitates the extraction of critical parameters in accordance with a general coupling matrix (CM). A Rogers RO4003C substrate with a thickness of 0.813 mm and dielectric properties of εr = 2.2 and tanϕ = 0.0027 was used in the simulation. The dimensions of the fabricated cross-coupled filter are as follows 25 × 52 × 0.847 mm3, where the filter shows a desirable frequency response with two transmission-limiting zeros as expected. The simulated cross-coupled filter has an excellent electromagnetic performance, it exhibits an insertion loss of 1.1 dB and a return loss of –25 dB within a frequency range of 1.13 GHz to 1.28 GHz. The results show that the analysis, simulation and measurements agree well with each other, proving the accuracy and efficiency of the filter design.
