I lead the Food Safety and Preservation research team of the New Zealand Institute for Bioeconomy Science. My team carries out research for the New Zealand industry on the microbial food safety, postharvest processing, and preservation of seafood; and on the safety of fresh horticultural produce. I also support international development programmes, ensuring that vegetable producers have appropriate tools to ensure the food safety of their produce. I have a wealth of research experience, starting in 1978 and am the author of over 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
