Prof. Yana Dimitrova Tchekalarova is currently a Professor of Pharmacolgy at the Institute of Neurobiology, BAS. She is Leader of the Department of Behavioral Neurobiology. Prof. Tchekalarova holds a Master’s degree in Molecular and Functional Biology from Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski”, Sofia, Bulgaria and a PhD in Pharmacology from BAS, Bulgaria. She is currently leading bachelor's and master's courses on Physiology at Sofia University, Dept. Medicine. Her research interests include studies on the influence of active substances on brain functions in different models of neurodegenerative diseases and aging.
