Biography

Julia Arias-Rodríguez received her M.S. in Physics from the University of Salamanca in 1993 and her Ph.D. in Science from the Polytechnic University of Madrid in 1998. In 1999, she joined the Department of Materials, Optics, and Electronic Technology at Miguel Hernández University in Spain, where she has been an associate professor in electronic technology since 2001. Since 2023, she has been a part of the Elche Microwave Laboratory (EMwLab). Her research includes both experimental and theoretical work in the fields of semiconductor lasers, multilayer dielectric optical filters, and wave propagation in anomalously dispersive media. In recent years, her work has focused on the design and characterization of microwave systems for biomedical applications, including dielectric sensing and printed circuits. She is also committed to developing low-cost microwave measurement systems to make research more accessible in resource-limited settings.
