Pao-Ann Hsiung, Ph.D., received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, ROC, in 1996. Since August 2007, he has been a full professor at the National Chung Cheng University (CCU), Taiwan. Previously, he was the department chair, the Dean of International Affairs at CCU, and the Director-General of Intelligence Technologies Department at the Chiayi City Government. From August 2015, he is the Director of the Research Center on AI and Sustainability, National Chung Cheng University. Currently, he is also the Deputy Director of the Taiwan-India Joint Research Center on Artificial Intelligence, National Chung Cheng University. He has published more than 300 papers in international journals and conferences. He was the recipient of the 2010 Outstanding Research Award given by the National Chung Cheng University. He received the 2001 ACM Taipei Chapter Kuo-Ting Li Young Researcher for his significant contributions to design automation of electronic systems. He was also a recipient of the 2004 Young Scholar Research Award given by National Chung Cheng University to five young faculty members per year. He received several advisor awards for Best Master Theses, embedded system competitions, and RFID design competitions. He helped the Chiayi City to achieve 2018 TOP7 Smart City in the Intelligence Community Forum (ICF) worldwide competition.
