Biography

I am Dr. Naeem Ahmad currently working as postdoc researcher at Lanzhou University in the field of soil science, agronomy and grassland ecology. I am also serving as associate editor for two journals, (1) Agrosystems, Geosciences & Environment (2) New Zealand Journal of Crop and Horticultural Science. My research focuses sustainable agriculture, specifically the impacts of good agricultural practices, tillage systems, cropping patterns and nutrient management on food security, grain quality, economics, environmental quality and soil health. My current work focuses climate change and resilient pastoral systems for food security and one health. My ultimate research goal is to further advance the science of sustainable agriculture and grassland systems by understanding how soil health, nutrient cycling, and climate resilient land-use practices can be optimized to improve overall ecosystem sustainability. To apply these understandings into strategies based on scientific evidence that will help productive and environmentally sustainable cropping and pastoral systems in adapting to climate change. Finally, to inform policies and practices to ensure the long-term food security of the current and future generations under the umbrella of sustainable development goals (SDGs).
