Songtao Lv is a professor and vice president of the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering at Changsha University of Science and Technology (Changsha, China). He was awarded the title of Young Yangtze River Scholar of the Ministry of Education, Young and Middle-aged Science and Technology Innovation Leader of the Ministry of Transport, Young Science and Technology Talent of the Ministry of Transport, Young and Middle-aged Scholar of Hunan Science and Technology Talent Support Project, Outstanding Science and Technology Worker of Hunan Province, and Hunan Youth May Fourth Medal Winner. He serves as an editorial board member of the China Journal of Highway and Transport, deputy editor-in-chief of Frontiers in Materials, and concurrently serves as a member of the Asphalt Materials Committee of ASCE and a member of the APSE Pavement Science and Engineering Society. His research interests mainly focus on smart road design, construction, and operation and maintenance; long-life pavement structure design theory and method; high-performance pavement materials; and road performance perception-interpretation-diagnosis-evaluation and prediction.
