Prof. Dr. Tamer Demiralp (Male): After studying medicine at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine of Istanbul University, Tamer Demiralp received his M.Sc. degree in biomedical sciences from the Institute for Biomedical Engineering of Bogazici University. He specialized in neurophysiology at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, where he still works as a professor of physiology. Between 1993 and 1996, he took part in the establishment of the Brain Dynamics Research Unit of the Turkish Scientific and Technological Research Council (TUBITAK) and acted as the director of the Electro-Neuro-Physiology research Center of Istanbul University. Tamer Demiralp acted as the president of the Brain Research Society of Turkey and worked for the establishment of a Ph.D. program in neurosciences at Istanbul University. His main areas of interest are electrophysiological and multimodal neuroimaging of cognitive functions, functional evaluation of brain electrical oscillations, and the development of electrophysiological and neuroimaging biomarkers for neurodegenerative disorders.
