Nuno Ferreira is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering (DEE) at the Institute of Engineering of Coimbra (ISEC). He has been a permanent researcher since December 2000 in the Knowledge Research Group on Intelligent Engineering and Computing for Advanced Innovation and Development (GECAD) at the Engineering Institute of Porto (ISEP). He has collaborated, since December 2017, as a researcher with the Centre of Robotics in Industry and Intelligent Systems (CRIIS) team at INESC TEC, the Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science. He received an Engineering degree, an M.Sc. degree, and a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and the University of Trás-dos-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), in 1996, 1999, and 2006, respectively. He also holds a Habilitation degree (Aggregation) in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering (2020) from UTAD. His main research area is robotics, and his main research interests are industrial robots, cooperative robots, multi-robot systems, human to robot team cooperation, distributed control, cooperative perception, and autonomous robots. He has exercised public management and administrative activities, such as being Vice-President of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra from 2013 to 2017 and President of the Institute of Engineering of Coimbra from 2010 to 2013.
