Leonie Ruth Simpson received her BA from the University of Queensland, BAppSc(Hons) from Queensland University of Technology, and a PhD from Queensland University of Technology. She is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science within the Faculty of Science. Her research interests mainly focus on encryption algorithms to secure communications between small devices in the Internet of Things (IoT); investigating the security and efficiency of authenticated encryption algorithms; security–efficiency trade-offs; the application of Boolean functions in cipher design to provide cyber attack resistance; and information security management and threat information sharing.
