Information

My scientific interests are concentrated on the cultural landscape from perspective of the sustainability. I cultivate a holistic approach, i.e., environmental, social, and aesthetic, recommended for spatial order achievement by the European Landscape Convention since 2000. My special research area is rural landscape protection. Among other things, I have studied the spatial and architectural manifestations of modern transformation of rural areas, such as the increase in environmental hazards due to the spread of buildings and the interruption of cultural continuity due to the loss of countryside architectural heritage. Recently, my scientific activities have focused on visual landscape assessment and its role in the spatial management of the rural areas. I look for effective methodology and tools for use at the local level. I think that they are indispensable in terms of social participation in space governing and planning. The multidimensional landscape perspective used in space management and land use planning allows us to notice and solve complex sociospatial problems. The research in this field promises a lot.
