Freddie Liswaniso Inambao received his M.Sc. (1981) and
Ph.D. (1985) in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Thermodynamics
and Internal Combustion Engines from Volgograd State Technical University,
Russia. He is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of
KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. His expertise includes sustainable energy,
energy management, alternative energy systems, energy efficiency, fuels,
nanomaterials, and biomaterials. His research is quite diverse, focusing on,
but not exclusively, the energy efficiency of commercial and industrial
buildings, piezoelectric material (PZT) power generation, low-temperature
solar thermal energy conversion, combustion of fossil fuels and renewable
fuels, and water desalination.
