Sherif Morad Abdelmohsen is Professor, Director of the Robotic Fabrication Lab, Co-founder of the Educational Virtual Environment Lab, and Associate Chair of the Department of Architecture at the American University in Cairo, Co-founder of UDAAR Engineering Consultancy and IT Solutions, and President of the Arab Society for Computation in Architecture, Art and Design (ASCAAD). He received his PhD in Architecture from Georgia Tech (2011), MSc (2004) and BSc (2000) in Architecture from Ain Shams University, Egypt. He has over 80 articles and funded projects in areas of low-cost adaptive architecture, automated space management, and robotic fabrication of thermally-responsive complex facades. Professionally, he participated in award-winning international competitions and projects in UAE, KSA, Lebanon, Italy, Germany and Egypt. He received the Emerald Literati Award (2022), KANS scientific competition award (2018), Faculty Award of Merit for Best Doctoral Presentation (2012), and ARCC/KING Medal for Excellence in Architectural and Environmental Design Research (2009).
