Josefina Vergara Sánchez received the Ph.D. degree from the Centro de Investigación en Ingeniería y Ciencias Aplicadas, Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (UAEM), Cuernavaca, México, in 2008. She is currently a Researcher with the Facultad de Ciencias Químicas e Ingeniería, UAEM, Environmental Engineer Laboratory. Her current research interests include water treatment, wastewater, removal of organic pollutants in aqueous media with conventional treatments, and advanced oxidation processes. She belongs to the National System of Investigators and the Academy of Sciences of Morelos. She is a member of the basic Academic Nucleus of the Master's and Doctorate in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Technologies.
