Tsuyoshi Ochiai has been a senior researcher in the Materials Analysis Group at the local independent administrative agency Kanagawa Institute of Industrial Science and Technology (KISTEC), Kanagawa, Japan. Photoelectrochemistry and environmental chemistry are his major research areas. Many of his current research and development projects are related to environmental purification. Based on this, already many products, such as photocatalytic filter materials and air purifiers, have been released through fruitful cooperation with companies. He completed a doctoral course at the Nagoya Institute of Technology's Graduate School of Engineering, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, and gained a Ph.D. degree in engineering in 2008. From April 2005 to March 2008, he worked for the Central Japan Railway Company as a research engineer in the Functional Materials Team, Technical Research and Development Department, General Technology Division.
