Dr. Vikas Sharma is a computational biologist with expertise in Genomics and Next-generation Sequencing (NGS) & Data Analytics. He is currently serving as a Bioinformatics Scientific Manager at Eagle Genomics Ltd. in Hyderabad, India. His primary responsibilities include analyzing multi-dimensional microbiome data to uncover signals and relationships, assessing existing tools, and developing innovative multi-omics analysis tools and workflows. Previously, Dr. Sharma worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, where he worked on NGS applications including whole genome sequencing, comparative genomics, and metagenomics profiling. Before this, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, where he worked on NGS applications and the development of synthetic microbial consortia. He holds a PhD in Bioinformatics and Genomics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, India.
