José Luis García Calvo (Talavera de la Reina, 09/03/1979): He is a Ph.D. of Environmental Science and Head of the Scientific-Technical Unit of Concrete Technology of the IETcc-CSIC. His main line of research is the development of special concretes with a performance and sustainable approach, and the evaluation of their behavior, microstructure, and durability, paying special attention to the development of expansive concretes. He has participated in the achievement of pioneering construction milestones at a European level, such as the development of low pH concrete plugs for the storage of high-level radioactive waste, and the development of expansive self-compacting concretes for filling the arch tubes of a bridge in Tenerife. He has 20 JRC publications, 5 in technical journals, 32 chapters in popular science books, and 2 monographs. He has 38 contributions to international conferences and 11 to national ones. He has participated in 3 European R & D & I projects and 10 national ones, and in 30 research contracts.
