Chih-Jer Lin (IEEE member) received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan, in 1992, 1994, and 1998, respectively, all in mechanical engineering. He is currently a Professor and the Director of the Graduate Institute of Automation and Technology, National Taipei University of Technology, Taipei, Taiwan. His current research interests include mechatronics, precision motion control, system identification, sliding-mode control, robotics, and evolutionary algorithms.
