A singularity‐free terminal sliding mode (TSM) control scheme with fast and fixed‐time convergence for a class of second‐order non‐linear systems with matched uncertainties and external disturbances is proposed. A novel singularity‐free fast TSM (SFTSM) structure is constructed and the upper‐bound of convergence time is independent of initial states and can be set arbitrarily in advance. Then, the proposed SFTSM controller is designed by combining the SFTSM structure and the composite fast reaching law and the globally fixed‐time stability is guaranteed and derived with the phase plane analysis and Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, the simulation results for a single inverted pendulum tracking system are included to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

This paper proposes a nonsingular terminal sliding mode control scheme with fast fixed-time convergence for a class of second-order nonlinear systems in the presence of matched uncertainties and perturbations. First, based on fixed-time stability theory, a novel stable system is proposed. Then, using the fixed-time stable system, a fast fixed-time nonsingular terminal sliding surface is derived. The settling time is independent of the initial system state and can be set in advance with the design parameters; the upperbound of convergence time is derived from the Lyapunov theory. Moreover, the proposed control scheme has an advantage in convergence rate over existing results and achieves better control performance with low control energy cost. The simulation results for a tracking system with a single inverted pendulum are presented to validate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed control method.

Aero-optic imaging deviation is a kind of aero-optic effect. It characterizes the image position displacement on an imaging plane. This paper studies the influence of altitude on aero-optic imaging deviation. The Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes solver provided in FLUENT was used for flow computations. The Runge–Kutta method based ray tracing was adopted for optics calculations. The orthogonal array was brought in for the experiment arrangement. Four representative suites of imaging deviations and imaging deviation slopes were obtained in the altitude range of 10–60 km. The results show that as altitude increases, the imaging deviation decreases, and the imaging deviation slope approaches zero from a negative value.
