Hongbin Zhang was born in Jiangsu, China, in 1979. He received his B.S. degree in computer science and technology from East China Jiaotong University, Nanchang, Jiangxi, China, in 2001. He received his M.S. degree in traffic information engineering and control from East China Jiaotong University, Nanchang, Jiangxi, China, in 2004. He received his Ph.D. degree in computer software and theory from Wuhan University, Wuhan, Hubei, China, in 2016. From 2017 to 2018, he was a visiting scholar at the School of Computing and Information Sciences, Florida International University, Miami, FL, USA. His cosupervisor is Prof. Tao Li. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Software School, East China Jiaotong University, Nanchang, Jiangxi, China. And he is also the director of the Institute of Image Processing and Pattern Recognition, East China Jiaotong University, Nanchang, Jiangxi, China. His current research interests include image captioning, natural language processing, recommendation systems, and machine learning.
