E. Alberto Aragón-Noriega has been a professor and senior researcher at Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas del Noroeste since 1994, working in the field of the management, recovery, and sustainability of fisheries. He received a bachelor’s degree in fishery biology from Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa in 1988. He obtained his master's degree in 1993 and doctoral degree in 2000, both in marine ecology, at the Centro de Investigación Científica y Educación Superior de Ensenada. He has published 156 scientific papers, with 104 of them in journals indexed in JCR. Since 1995, he has oriented his research toward the Biosphere Reserve of the Upper Gulf of California and Colorado River Delta, where he has conducted research projects on society fisheries and endangered species. He belongs to the national system of researchers, level 3, of the Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología, Mexico, and is a member of the National Shellfisheries Association and the Mexican Society of Ecology.
